Driving Sustainable Development in Nigeria: Introducing develoPPP Ventures
develoPPP Ventures, in collaboration with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, is excited to announce its entry into the Nigerian start-up ecosystem. This groundbreaking program is set to support young companies with innovative business models that contribute to sustainable local economic, ecological, and social development.
Nigeria, with its thriving tech and entrepreneurial community, offers immense potential for impactful start-ups. develoPPP Ventures aims to unlock this potential by providing growth funding and technical support to start-ups that have already achieved proof of concept and revenue generation. The program aims to scale innovative solutions, making them accessible to a larger population.
Through a unique matching-funds model, selected start-ups can receive grants of up to €100,000 from BMZ, provided they secure matching funds from other sources. This approach not only ensures financial support but also encourages collaboration between the public and private sectors, fostering an environment for sustainable growth and impact.
develoPPP Ventures is particularly committed to promoting gender equality and inclusivity. Women-led start-ups and those championing gender equality are strongly encouraged to apply. By empowering underrepresented entrepreneurs, the program aims to drive positive change and create a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The program is currently open for applications in Nigeria, with plans to expand to other countries in the near future.
